MacGillivray Cares.

MacGillivray Law is privileged to operate across all four Atlantic provinces. Given the personal nature of the work that we do, our firm feels connected to these communities; we understand the challenges that are faced by our clients. MacGillivray Law supports initiatives and people across Atlantic Canada because we have a responsibility to improve the communities we operate and live in.

Currently, MacGillivray Law has three central programs focusing on food security, health and wellness, and supporting artists.

Never Stop Training Initiative

Improving the health and wellness of our community is a priority for MacGillivray Law. We also understand the value of fitness instruction that instills virtues of discipline, respect, and care for oneself, especially for young people who may be going through a challenging time.

Research from leading health journals suggests a positive correlation between cognitive development in vulnerable youths and training in mixed martial arts. The structure, interaction with adults and other young people who may come from similar backgrounds, and an athletic output all help create a positive environment for young people to grow.

MacGillivray Law is launching a grant program to cover the costs of membership classes for young people in Atlantic Canada who would benefit from the positive intervention of structured martial arts classes. It is our hope that through this program, we are able to change the trajectory of some of the lives of young Atlantic Canadians.

Atlantic Food Security Initiative

Rising grocery prices, food insecurity, limited access to high-quality produce, and a general disconnect between consumers and where their food comes from has become an issue in Atlantic Canada and across the country. These challenges are shaping the lives of families and farmers and are prohibiting people to live full and healthy lives. In Atlantic Canada there is an abundance of farmland, fisheries, and a strong agricultural history; MacGillivray Injury Law wants to do what we can to support our local community.

In 2024, MacGillivray Law is running a grant program for small farmers, vendors, and non-profits that work in producing local food for local consumers.

Supporting Artists

MacGillivray Law recognizes the challenges the art community faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, which created financial pressure on many artists in Atlantic Canada. We believe it is particularly important to support Mi’kmaq art and artists as a way to champion indigenous communities and promote better cultural understanding. Our firm has an ongoing relationship with artist Alan Syliboy and showcase his art in our marketing material and within our firm.
