Jamie MacGillivray

Litigation Lawyer, Founder & Principal

Jamie was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1994.  He has a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Law from the University of New Brunswick.  Jamie has practiced personal injury and insurance law since 1994, and exclusively since 1999.  He is the principal and founder of MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law which is now one of the region's leading Plaintiff personal injury practices and the largest in Atlantic Canada.  Jamie has extensive trial experience with 39 entries for decisions in the CanLii case law database.

Jamie is "Lexpert Ranked" for being Repeatedly Recommended, and has been recognized by his peers as a "Leading Practitioner" in the field of personal injury litigation.  Jamie has an interest in using litigation to help fight industry practices that are destructive to the environment, and to provide a check and balance against the increasing power of multi-national corporations and the concentration of wealth and power in an increasingly small number of people.  Jamie believes that this is what Plaintiff personal injury law is really about, and that it can help be part of the solution. Repeatedly recommended as a leading lawyer by a peer survey conducted by the Canadian Legal Expert Directory since 2011.

Jamie lives in Stellarton with his wife Lisa and three children Zoe, Maya, and Gage aged 11, 8, and 6.
