Brandon is originally from Cape Breton and completed his undergraduate studies there before relocating to New Brunswick to study law. During his time at UNB, Brandon was involved in the McKelvey Cup trial practice moot, as well as volunteer internships with Pro Bono Students Canada, The Fredericton Legal Advice Clinic, the Public Legal Education Information Service of New Brunswick, and the Office of the Attorney General (Public Prosecutions Division) in Fredericton.
Brandon completed his Articles with Legal Aid NL and was called to the Newfoundland Bar in February of 2020, winning the Provincial Court Judges Award (highest standing in Criminal Law) in the process. After being admitted to the Newfoundland Bar, Brandon worked as a Municipal Prosecutor and in-house legal counsel for the City of St. John’s, before joining MacGillivray Law as an associate.
In his spare time Brandon enjoys golfing, softball, soccer, and hockey, as well as hiking and skiing.
