Dr. Aris Lavranos

Articled Clerk

Aris has been a practicing emergency physician for almost ten years. He decided to bring his medical knowledge to the MacGillivray team in pursuit of justice for the injured in personal injury and medical malpractice claims.

A double-alumni of Dalhousie University, he graduated from law school in 2023 with a certificate in Health Law. He focussed his studies on principles of negligence such as informed consent, duty of care and the delivery of health-care to marginalized populations.

Aris has an interest in politics, economics, and philosophy. He is engaged in advocacy work, focussing on the intersection of civil rights and health-care policy. He co-founded the Nova Scotia Civil Liberties Association, on which he remains a board member.

When not practicing emergency medicine or law, he can be found reading to his daughter or at his local gym working out with friends.
