Supporting Local Musical Talent

Our very own Jennifer Langille presented Luke MacIsaac with this year's $5,000 scholarship last week.

Luke is going to pursue his passion for music this fall at Memorial University in the Bachelor of Music program. He has been heavily involved in school and community music programs since elementary school, winning numerous awards including North Nova Education Centre’s Jazz Choir Top Male. He plays several instruments and sings in multiple choirs, including the Nova Scotia Youth Choir.

This year’s scholarship was inspired by Kyle Lamey, a client of MacGillivray Law who was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident when he was a teenager. Kyle overcame many obstacles during his recovery, which inspired the award’s criteria for applicants to have “excelled in the face of hurdles.” Kyle’s sister, Stephanie Lamey, helped present the scholarship on behalf of the Lamey family.

Good luck in Newfoundland, Luke! 😃
