Air Canada Case

We are counsel in a class action suit brought on behalf of passengers of Air Canada Flight 624, and we represent those who endured both physical and psychological injuries due to the negligence of the defendants.

Class Action Court Name:

S. Philip Cameron vs. Air Canada et al.

Court:

Supreme Court of Nova Scotia

Class Members:

All persons who were passengers of Air Canada Flight 624 from Pearson Internation Airport in Toronto to Halifax International Airport in Halifax on March 28, 2015.

We are counsel in a class action brought on behalf of passengers of Air Canada Flight 624 from Pearson International Airport in Toronto to Halifax International Airport.  The Defendants include Air Canada, Nav Canada, the Halifax International Airport Authority, the flight's Captain, and the First Officer.  This class action lawsuit alleges that the negligence of these defendants caused the crash landing of this flight, resulting in both physical and psychological injuries to passengers.

Through this claim and the TSB investigation our clients hope to be able to access information about what problems contributed to the crash.  Our clients believe based on the known facts that there was likely negligence on the part of the Defendants.

MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law is also filing a mass tort claim where all of our clients are named individually.  The firm currently has been retained by more than twenty passengers who will be included in the mass tort claim.  The passengers are filing as individuals in the mass tort in case the class is not certified, as was the case in the Sydney tar ponds litigation in Nova Scotia.  We hope to protect our clients regardless of whether the class action is cerified.  The mass tort claim will provide an alternative if the class action is unsustainable or too cumbersome.

We believe that claims like these help change the behaviour of profit motivated corporations - keeping them accountable to people they hurt and encouraging higher safety standards.
